Some good news recently released:
1. WWU has agreed to keep the Music Library open. The Herald reported that there will also be cuts to open hours and staff but at least those are things that we can get back in the future when the economy improves. It would have been a lot more difficult getting back an entire music library.
2. BPL’s outreach program is also saved at this time. The City decided to continue funding this service, and I am very grateful for that decision. The outreach program serves primarily institution bound individuals, people who have great difficulty, or who simply cannot physically travel to the library. Not having access to library materials would have been an injustice.
I hope the good news can keep on rolling in! 😀
